Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Youth Programs presents
The Young Women’s Jazz Workshop
Young women will have the special opportunity to learn about and perform jazz in an all-female setting at Jazz at Lincoln Center every Saturday afternoon from October through April. The Young Women’s Jazz Workshop exists to provide needed support and a positive learning environment for young women to develop their skills and pursue their interest in instrumental jazz music. Students will learn about ensemble playing, improvisation, and the women in jazz who continue to shape the music today. YWJW ensembles will have the opportunity to perform several times throughout the season. The YWJW faculty are comprised of renowned female musicians dedicated to nurturing young learners with innovative teaching and mentoring techniques.
